Team Member Acacia

Acacia Abshire, Owner/CEO

Acacia's journey is a testament to her resilience and passion for both her career and community. Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, she made the move to Abilene in 2015, where she quickly established roots. Joining Home Instead that same year marked the beginning of a transformative chapter in her professional life.

 

Over the years, Acacia held various roles within Home Instead, showcasing her versatility and dedication. Starting as a General Manager, she quickly rose through the ranks, eventually landing a coveted position at the Home Instead Global Headquarters in January 2021. There, she excelled as a Business Performance Coach before transitioning to Franchise Operations, where she played a vital role in overseeing corporately owned franchises.

 

Throughout her career, Acacia's ultimate goal remained clear: to own a Home Instead franchise. In August of a pivotal year, she seized an irresistible opportunity to return to her beloved Abilene Home Instead franchise, where she had forged countless meaningful relationships over the years.

 

Acacia's journey is defined by her unwavering commitment to the people around her, her deep faith, and her passion for empowering others to achieve their professional dreams. Inspired by the selfless dedication of Care Professionals, she remains humbled by the opportunity to support seniors on their aging journey.

 

Despite the demands of entrepreneurship, Acacia always prioritizes her family and passions. Whether cheering on her three beautiful kids at their various activities, attending high school football games, or indulging in her love for painting and gardening, she finds joy and fulfillment in every aspect of her life.

Team Member Jason

Jason Abshire, Owner / COO

Jason's journey is a testament to his resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to service. Hailing from Southern Louisiana, he made the bold decision to enlist in the armed services during his sophomore year of high school. Following his graduation, Jason embarked on a new chapter, undergoing Marine Corps Bootcamp in San Diego before being stationed at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.

 

Throughout his military tenure, Jason traversed diverse landscapes, including deployments to the Middle East, where he gained invaluable experiences and forged lifelong bonds with his fellow servicemen and women. Upon fulfilling his military duty, Jason resettled in East Texas, where he embarked on a journey through various industries, including retail, manufacturing, production, firefighting/EMS, oil & gas, railroad, and nursing.

 

Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a desire to make a difference, Jason pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and a Master of Health Administration from Texas Tech University. His dedication and expertise led him to serve for eight years as a Cardiac Cath lab Nurse at Hendrick Medical Center, where he made a significant impact on patient care and outcomes.

 

However, Jason's aspirations extended beyond the confines of traditional healthcare settings. Partnering with his wife, he embarked on a mission to empower individuals to age in place while enhancing their quality of life. Together, they strive to turn their dream into reality, leveraging their combined expertise and passion to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Jason's journey is a testament to his unwavering dedication to service, lifelong learning, and commitment to creating positive change in his community.

Team Member Julie

Julie Blair, Marketing Director

Julie's story is a testament to her resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication to serving others. Originally hailing from Dallas, Texas, she embarked on a journey that took her across various states alongside her husband, who served in the Air Force for 20 years. Their journey eventually led them to settle in Abilene, Texas, where they found a place to call home permanently.

 

In 2019, Julie joined Home Instead, bringing with her an impressive 22 years of experience in the Sales & Marketing field. Her passion for educating the community about available assistance options while promoting independent living was evident from the start. Motivated by her personal experiences caring for a beloved family member, Julie understands firsthand the importance of being informed about available options and resources, especially during challenging times.

 

Julie's zest for life is contagious, evident in her love for spending quality time with her family, engaging in active games, and delighting others with surprises. Her genuine love for people shines through in every interaction, as she draws energy and inspiration from the connections she makes. Julie's journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those around her, one heartfelt interaction at a time

Samantha Hill, Human Resources

Samantha's life has been a journey filled with adventure, service, and a deep-rooted passion for healthcare. Born into a military family, she experienced the nomadic lifestyle from a young age, which instilled in her a sense of adaptability and resilience. Continuing this legacy, Samantha married into the military, embracing the challenges and opportunities that came with it.

 

Recently settling in Abilene from Tacoma, WA, Samantha brings with her a wealth of experience and a steadfast commitment to serving others. With a career in the healthcare industry spanning back to her teenage years, Samantha discovered her passion for helping others early on. From her first job at 16, she knew that healthcare was where she belonged, and she has since dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of those around her.

 

In her free time, Samantha finds joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether she's spending quality time with her husband and son, embarking on new adventures to explore the world, or indulging in her hobbies like video games and tending to her plants, Samantha approaches each day with enthusiasm and a sense of curiosity. Her love for music keeps her feet moving, reminding her to embrace every moment with passion and purpose. Samantha's journey is a testament to her unwavering dedication to serving her community, fueled by her love for healthcare and her zest for life's adventures.

Team Member Mandy

Amanda Campos, Client Care

Amanda, affectionately known as Mandy, has woven a tapestry of compassion and dedication throughout her journey in Abilene. Arriving in 2010 from Seymour, Texas, she embarked on a transformative chapter at Hardin-Simmons University. There, she immersed herself in the study of psychology and forensic science, earning her bachelor's degree in 2014. Undeterred by challenges, Mandy pursued further academic excellence, obtaining her master's degree in clinical counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy in 2016.

 

Her path to Home Instead was paved with meaningful experiences and a fervent desire to make a difference. For over four years, Mandy worked tirelessly with adults facing intellectual disabilities at a group home in Abilene, where she discovered her true calling as an advocate for those unable to speak for themselves. This profound experience ignited a passion within her to extend her reach and serve others in diverse capacities, leading her to Home Instead.

 

In her leisure moments, Mandy finds solace in the pages of books and the companionship of her loyal dog, Frodo. Her heart swells with joy at the mention of her three nieces, whom she cherishes dearly and travels to see whenever opportunity permits. With a love for all things Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Dr. Who, Mandy's enthusiasm for life's adventures knows no bounds.

 

As she embarks on this new chapter with Home Instead, Mandy radiates excitement and determination to continue her journey of service, enriching the lives of others in every way possible. With her unwavering commitment and boundless compassion, she embodies the spirit of caregiving and the essence of what it means to make a meaningful difference in the world.

Claire Johnson, Client Care

Claire's journey is deeply rooted in a familial tradition of caregiving and a passion for providing quality care to those in need. Raised in the warm embrace of South Carolina, she was surrounded by a family of nurses and healthcare professionals who inspired her from a young age. It was through her firsthand experiences as a Caregiver that Claire's love for the industry blossomed and flourished.

 

Driven by her innate desire to make a difference, Claire dedicated herself to roles as a Home Health Aide and Specialized Assistant, where she honed her skills and deepened her commitment to compassionate care. Her journey led her to Abilene, Texas, where she embraced a new chapter alongside her husband, a member of the Air Force stationed at Dyess AFB.

 

Eager to continue her mission of spreading happiness, care, and comfort, Claire joined the Home Instead team, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a heart full of compassion. She is thrilled to lend her expertise to the local senior community, enriching their lives with every interaction.

 

In her moments of respite, Claire finds solace in the pages of a good book, the creativity of writing, and the serenity of hiking with her beloved dog. Her love for literature, exploration, and the great outdoors reflects her vibrant spirit and zest for life.

Jayson Brady, Service Coordinator

Jayson's journey is a testament to his dedication to service, leadership, and the pursuit of new adventures. After an illustrious 21-year career in the United States Air Force, he recently made the transition to Abilene, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a commitment to making a difference.

 

With two decades of expertise in scheduling personnel, Jayson's focus on the operations side of scheduling has equipped him with invaluable skills in organization, efficiency, and strategic planning. His passion for leading through servant leadership is evident in his approach to every task, and his dedication to serving others is unwavering.

 

Joining the Home Instead team, Jayson is eager to continue his journey of service and leadership, making a meaningful impact on the lives of others. His decision to choose Home Instead as the place to fulfill his passion is a testament to the organization's commitment to excellence and the invaluable role it plays in the community.

 

Outside of his professional endeavors, Jayson finds joy and fulfillment in his role as a husband and father. With three creative and unique children by his side, Jayson's family is always ready for the next adventure, embracing new experiences with enthusiasm and curiosity.

Stacie's journey is deeply rooted in her love for caregiving and her unwavering dedication to serving others. Born and raised in Abilene, Texas, she has called this community home throughout her life. Now residing in Eula with her husband and three children, Stacie brings over 23 years of invaluable CNA experience to the Home Instead team.

 

Stacie's passion for caregiving blossomed as she cared for her grandmothers before they passed, instilling in her a profound sense of compassion and empathy. Over the years, she honed her skills and gained extensive experience working in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities, where she touched the lives of countless individuals with her warmth and dedication.

 

Bringing her wealth of experience and her heart full of compassion to Home Instead, Stacie embodies the spirit of caregiving in its truest form. Her unwavering commitment to serving others, coupled with her exceptional skill set, makes her an invaluable asset to the team.

Elisa Tambunga, Recruitment & Training Coordinator

Elisa has worked in outpatient healthcare for five years, holding both an Associate's and a Bachelor's degree in Business Studies, with a focus on Marketing from ASU. Growing up in a small West Texas town, she was inspired to pursue a career in healthcare by my mother, who was a caregiver.

Elisa has a daughter named Emilia Brooke, and she enjoys spending time with Joseph and her family.

Her personal interests include advocacy work in D.C., caring for my two furbabies, Bohdi and Taz, traveling the world, and embarking on new adventures. She loves meeting and speaking with new people, constantly seeking new experiences.
