CAREGiver Spotlight: Rachelle R

Written By: Kimberly Z

When Rachelle got hired onto Home Instead’s team, she hit the ground running! She brought so many ideas on what to do to be engaged in the Turtle Lake community and was ready to go. She was setting up meetings, tagging along with our manager to talk to churches, the local meal program, clinics, putting up posters, and getting our name out there. She knew that since we were not only a new company but brand new to the Turtle Lake area, we needed to spread the word, and she was raring to go.

Before becoming a caregiver for Home Instead, Rachelle ran her own daycare. She’s been able to share her compassionate heart in a variety of ways in the last few years for all ages. She quickly realized that working as a caregiver and serving individuals was her calling. She loves building close relationships with her clients, engaging in conversation, cooking, and meal prepping, and just all-around taking care of people. Hoping that her time there has made that person’s day and life just a bit easier and more enjoyable.

Along with all of her caring experience, she also helps her husband with farming, which she really enjoys. Her favorite time is calving season, which I’m sure is just another aspect of her caring mindset, being able to help and work with the animals during that time. When she isn’t doing that, she is spending time with her son and being his caring and loving momma.

One of Rachelle’s best traits is connecting with her clients. Though, not just her clients. She had one client she worked with that lived with his daughter. She was there about two times a week working with her client. Through the time she spent there providing care, she also built a close connection to the daughter as well. Creating a strong and trusting bond with a client is very important but being able to build a relationship with family members can be just as important, and Rachelle has that down. This allows the client’s family to know that their loved one is well cared for, and they can trust the caregiver that is with them.

Rachelle’s three words she used to describe Home Instead are companionship, delightful, and genuine. And she as a caregiver shines bright with all three of these traits and then some! Rachelle became a caregiver because she realized she could take something she is passionate about, which is helping others and making a difference in people’s lives, and make it a career for herself. And that she did!
