Goodlettsville June 2021 Client & CAREGiver Spotlight - Patsy D & Jean Marie M.
Meet Patsy and Jean Marie, Goodlettsville’s Client and Professional CAREGiver Spotlight team for June! Ms. Patsy is from Red Boiling Springs, TN. She married her husband, Bobby, in 1963. She was a payroll clerk and accountant before her retirement. Ms. Patsy had a stroke in 2002 which left her wheelchair bound. Her mother was a client with Home Instead for five years, so it was natural for her to choose to become a client herself. Ms. Patsy became a client in 2020 when her husband’s health began to decline, and he could not care for her like he once did.
Ms. Patsy has limited use of her left side and says her caregiver, Jean Marie, “does everything that my left hand cannot do”. Jean Marie and Ms. Patsy relate well to each other since they both have one son and are both Christians. They enjoy reading the Bible together or watching MeTV and game shows. One of their favorite activities is just sitting outside together looking at the creek and discussing Bible verses. Jean Marie lifts Ms. Patsy’s spirits when she is down, and Ms. Patsy says, “Jean Marie helps me so much and I truly appreciate her.” We are certainly proud of the bond between Ms. Patsy and Jean Marie. It exemplifies what we mean by “Sharing Our Hearts” and we hope this pair can continue to be “Home Instead” for many years to come!
