Meet Gadsden’s Client and Professional CAREGiver Spotlight for May, Ms. Dianna and her caregiver Shyia! Dianna and Shyia have been a team since January 2021 and in that short time, they have developed a lasting relationship. Ms. Dianna was in the Marine Corps before her retirement. She was stationed in Washington D.C. and worked in the records office for military retirement. As one can imagine, there were not a lot of women in the Marines back in those days. However, she was in a class of 200 women and says bootcamp was tough and quite an experience. She is a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native and has one son who lives close to her now.
Ms. Dianna and Shyia have their daily routine down pat. Shyia arrives and cooks a good breakfast of bacon, eggs, grits and toast. Ms. Dianna cannot get out of the house now, so she has introduced Shyia to Fox news. She says Shyia gets into it now and they sit and talk about the news.
When asked about Shyia, Ms. Dianna says, “She is special”. Her supervisors agree, saying, “Ms. Dianna’s son is always very appreciative of everything Shyia does for him and has said he believes his mom loves Shyia like a grand-daughter.” We are so proud of this pair and how they Share Their Hearts. We hope Ms. Dianna and Shyia continue to be a team for many years to come!
