One Year After Joining Home Instead, Veronica Is Honored
A lot has happened to Veronica Saenz during the past 12 months. After she joined Home Instead® of Midland-Odessa on Oct. 18, 2022, Veronica experienced her triumphs and also encountered challenging days. “During her first year with us, Veronica has demonstrated true passion in her work as well as resilience. Her Care Professional abilities have won the trust of her clients, who at times have been resistant to care,” said Imelda Hawkins, Home Instead’s human resources director, assistant administrator, and recruitment and engagement coordinator.
Veronica’s brightest moment occurred when Imelda announced she had been selected as Care Pro of the Month in October 2023 for the award-winning franchise that is owned by Lorena and William Shensky. Among the considerations for achieving Care Pro of the Month status, an employee has shown she has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Empathy and compassion are taken into account for the honor, as well as skill and wisdom for dealing with challenging situations. Veronica embodies Home Instead’s guiding principles of “Build Trust, Take the Lead and Share Your Heart.” She is exceptional at her work with any client.
Focusing on Home Instead’s training, processes and procedures of successful caregiving helped Veronica achieve Care Pro of the Month status. She also arrived at Home Instead with strong caregiving experience. “Veronica, a seasoned caregiver, brought to us her experience of caring for a friend with a brain injury. That experience has led her to excel in her work. Veronica is an outstanding Care Pro!” Imelda said.
For Veronica, touching lives impacts her soul, whether she is providing physical help such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders or personal care or if she is offering emotional support in a companionship role.
In addition to her strong companionship skills, Veronica provides safety assurance, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and transportation and errands. Veronica offers personal assistance with eating, grooming, dressing, bathing, incontinence care, cognitive impairment, hospice support and mobility. By expertly doing so, Veronica and her fellow Care Pros not only assist their clients, but help their families eliminate worry, reduce stress and re-establish personal freedom.
To build on their knowledge and experience, Veronica and other Midland-Odessa Care Pros are offered the opportunity to increase their dementia-care skills by taking part in the Home Instead network’s one-of-a-kind training protocol. Home Instead’s Person-Centered Care Training for Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias is recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association® for incorporating the evidence-based dementia-care practice recommendations in these topic areas: Alzheimer’s and dementia, person-centered care, assessment and care planning, activities of daily living, and behaviors and communication.
Veronica loves being a part of the Care Pro team for the Midland-Odessa franchise, a member of a network comprised of Home Instead, Inc. and its parent company, Honor. With the world’s
largest home-care network and the most advanced care platform, Honor and Home Instead are revolutionizing care for older adults, their families and Care Pros. Combined, the network has more than 100,000 Care Pros across 13 countries, meeting the growing needs of millions of older adults and their families worldwide.
