‘Miriam’s Personality, Smile Brighten Anyone’s Day’
Despite her relatively short time with Home Instead® of Midland-Odessa, Miriam Pecina is no rookie at professional senior care. In fact, it took less than a half-year as a Home Instead Care Professional for Miriam to be honored as the award-winning office’s employee of the month for July.
“Miriam was hired on Feb. 16, 2023, but you would never know that she has less than six months of experience with Home Instead because Miriam has become a staple at our franchise,” said Imelda Hawkins, the human resources director, assistant administrator, and recruitment and engagement coordinator at Home Instead. Imelda also is a former Care Pro of the Month.
Imelda added: “Mariam brought a wealth of knowledge to Home Instead from previous administrative duties in the caregiving field and owning her own business. She has a heart that she could not wait to share with our seniors. Those endearing elements of compassion and empathy have made Miriam a highly demanded Care Pro who clients seek out.”
Perhaps the clients can feel Miriam’s compassion and empathy on the day she showed up to assist them. Those are two of the characteristics that are evaluated when a Care Pro is considered for the employee of the month award. Of course, there are others.
Has the Care Pro gone above and beyond the call of duty? Does the Care Pro possess the skills and wisdom to be highly successful? Is the Care Pro exceptional at her work with any client? Finally, does the Care Pro focus on Home Instead’s training, processes and procedures of successful caregiving? In other words, does the Care Pro work at getting better?
For Imelda and franchise co-owners Lorena and William Shensky, the answers were yes. When Imelda announced Miriam had been honored as Care Pro of the Month, Imelda said Miriam displays Home Instead’s guiding principles of “Build Trust, Take the Lead and Share Your Heart.”
“Mariam has a bubbly personality and a contagious smile that will brighten up your day! Mariam exemplifies our core values! We absolutely love her!” Imelda said.
Lorena and William have been the Home Instead franchise’s co-owners since Aug. 1, 2020. Imelda, a Care Pro from 2014 to 2016, moved into her position in March 2016. Lorena, William, Imelda and Miriam are proud members of a franchise network directed by Home Instead, Inc. and its parent company, Honor.
With the world’s largest home-care network and the most advanced care platform, Honor and Home Instead are revolutionizing care for older adults, their families and Care Pros. Combined, the network has more than 100,000 Care Pros across 13 countries, meeting the growing needs of millions of older adults and their families worldwide.
