April 2021 Professional CAREGiver of the Month - Sarah S.
Congratulations: Sarah Spradlin for being our CGOM for April. Sarah has such a kind, gentle demeanor. Clients warm up to her quickly and she’s not afraid of challenging situations that many of our clients face. Read below to get to know Sarah a little bit better.
Where were you born? I was born and raised here in Fort Smith.
How long have you worked at HISC? I have worked for Home Instead for about 10 months now.
What’s your favorite part of caregiving? As a caregiver, I love that I get plenty of time to get to know my clients and their routines. It makes me feel good that they are excited to see me and welcome me into their homes. I especially love getting to observe when other healthcare workers such as nurses, PT's, and OT's work with my clients. It's great to see alternative perspectives of medicine and gives me ideas on how to improve my client's care.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. In my free time, weather permitting, I am pretty outdoorsy! I love to hike, swim, and kayak as often as I can. I am really looking forward to my upcoming trip to the Grand Canyon where I'll be hiking all the way from the north rim to south rim in one day! Some indoor activities that I'm pretty good at are swing dancing, painting, and makeup artistry. My goal is to become a physician assistant, so I spend most of my time outside of work preparing for my masters application. Home Instead has always been so supportive and done everything they can to help me succeed. I love working for a company that truly cares about their employees and clients.
Sarah exemplifies everything that a CAREGiver should be. She loves her work, and to date, has never missed a day. Even when it snowed, she drove as close to the client’s home as she could get, then walked the rest of the way.
There’s no doubt that Sarah is a beautiful young woman, but the beauty that really makes her stand out is the love and compassion within her. Thank you, Sarah, for all you do to bless others. We’re proud of you and glad to honor you with this recognition. Keep up the excellent work! 😊
