About Us
Meet Our Home Care Team

Lance Summey, MSW

Lance first arrived in Waco in 2006 to pursue graduate studies at Baylor University. After earning his Master's in Social Work, he worked in Washington, DC, as well as internationally in India and Thailand. He later returned to Waco to be closer to his family, as his mother was fighting breast cancer.

Lance was raised in a household where caring for others was always a central conversation. He understands both the perspective of a family member needing access to quality care and the responsibilities of being a caregiver. He vividly recalls visits to care facilities and family discussions about his grandmother, who had Multiple Sclerosis. Those experiences instilled in him the importance of distinguishing between basic care and high-quality care—something he carries with him to this day.

Lance chose Home Instead because he deeply values the comprehensive support they provide to clients, CAREPros, and families. He takes pride in offering the resources and benefits that come from being part of the world's largest non-medical home care network. Whether through operational and care standards, educational resources, or advanced technologies, Lance finds fulfillment in connecting families with all that Home Instead offers. Additionally, he is a certified End of Life Doula.

Lance is also active in his community, participating in several civic organizations and is a graduate of Leadership Waco through the Waco Chamber of Commerce.

Jennifer, Client Care Coordinator

Jennifer joined the Home Instead Waco team in February 2022 as the Client Care Coordinator. Her passion for senior care stems from the close bond she shared with her grandmother, whom she helped care for before her passing. This personal experience, combined with years of professional expertise, has given Jennifer a deep understanding of what it truly means to care for seniors. She is dedicated to ensuring that clients in the community receive the highest quality care possible.

Originally from the Texas Panhandle, Jennifer moved to the Waco area in 2018 to continue her career in the medical field. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management from Texas Tech University and brings over 25 years of experience in Home Health, Hospice, Memory Care, and Assisted Living to her role.

Jennifer and her husband, Scott, share a daughter, Paisley. In her free time, she enjoys watching Paisley play softball, attending sports events, and spending quality time with her family.

Tiffany, Engagement & Training Coordinator

Tiffany was born in Oklahoma City, OK, and raised in Battle Creek, MI. She has called Waco home since 1980. After graduating from La Vega High School in 1988, Tiffany attended Prairie View A&M University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Performance in 1993. In 2006, she completed her Master of Education degree from Tarleton University.

Tiffany spent 19 years teaching and coaching at various schools across Central Texas. She also worked as an Investigator for Child Protective Services for 7 years and as a Family Based Safety Services worker for an additional 2 years. In May 2023, she retired from her career in education and coaching.

In June 2023, Tiffany joined Home Instead as the Engagement & Training Coordinator. Her compassion and dedication to helping others have been constants throughout her career, from her time in teaching and CPS to caring for her mother and stepfather. Her mother, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and supervisor for the Veterans Administration Hospital for 34 years, and her stepfather, an Air Force Veteran (MSgt) and employee of the Veterans Affairs Regional Office for over 30 years, were significant influences in her life until their passing. Tiffany also assists in caring for her two grandchildren, Emerson and Ezra, and is a proud mother of three children: Megean, her son-in-law Bryce, and RJ.

Tiffany’s life experiences and personal connections to caregiving make her a valuable asset to Home Instead, where she continues to bring her passion for helping others into everything she does.

Tammy, Human Resources

Tammy’s life journey has taken her across the country, but her family roots have always been deeply connected to Texas. After a successful 20-year career as a training manager in specialty retail, a significant life change in 2014 led her back to school. In 2016, Tammy moved to Waco with her husband and son to pursue her education at Baylor University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology in 2019.

Tammy’s passion for caregiving was inspired by her mother, who cared for ailing loved ones throughout their lives. She has personally experienced the rewards of keeping loved ones at home, as well as the challenges it can bring. Tammy also raised a daughter with Spina Bifida, navigating countless medical appointments, surgeries, physical therapy sessions, and school visits, all while balancing the demands of her career and helping her team thrive. These experiences shape her approach to her role at Home Instead, where she is committed to putting the “human” back in Human Resources.

Tammy collaborates closely with the Scheduling Coordinator to ensure staffing needs are met, and with the Training and Engagement Coordinator to identify opportunities that help Care Professionals grow in confidence, competence, and overall satisfaction. She takes great pride in seeing the Care Pro team develop both personally and professionally.

In her free time, Tammy enjoys writing short fiction and spending time with her family at racetracks and various Comic Cons.

Paul, Scheduling Coordinator

Paul’s journey led him to Texas in 2017, bringing with him a decade of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in acute care settings. His deep understanding of the caregiving field—from the perspectives of family members, medical professionals, clients, and caregivers—makes him an invaluable asset at Home Instead, particularly in his role as a scheduler.

When Paul isn’t coordinating schedules or assisting clients over the phone, he loves spending time with his wife, Brittany, and their two children, Juliette and Maddock. An enthusiast of all things fantasy, Paul enjoys immersing himself in imaginative worlds and creative adventures. Whether it’s playing games with family and friends, either on a board or a device, Paul finds joy in shared experiences. He is also heavily involved in his church, where he volunteers in the kids' ministry, leading games during Vacation Bible School and AWANA on Wednesday evenings. Additionally, he co-leads the men’s ministry group.

Paul strives to bring joy and enthusiasm to everything he does at Home Instead. His unwavering commitment to helping others and spreading positivity reflects his dedication to his faith, his family, and his career. Paul embodies the spirit of compassionate caregiving, driven by kindness and a desire to make the world a better place.

Rhonda, Key Player Assistant

After working as a CNA for 15 yrs, both in acute care and in skilled nursing facilities, Rhonda decided to take my passion and skills working with the elderly to doing in home care. Seeing the client do so much better being cared for in their home is deeply meaningful to Rhonda.

Rhonda began working with Home Instead in 2013, where she was a caregiver and administrative role at another Home Instead in California. Upon moving to Texas, she joined the Waco Home Instead in 2018. After working as a caregiver for 3 years, she joined the office staff as a Key Player Assistant. Throughout the day Rhonda can found answering phones, scheduling, helping other office staff with tasks and even filling in at a client’s home.

Originally from California, being a military brat, she has lived in a few other places in my life. Rhonda has several adult children that are currently serving in the US Military. She enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband especially enjoy their time with their grandchildren. She also enjoys reading and antiquing and the occasional yard sale.
