In celebration of National Caregiver month in November, Dr. Lakelyn Eichenberger, Home Instead gerontologist and spokesperson, appeared on The Phil show and surprised a family caregiver with six months of free Home Instead in-home care services.
Carrie is sandwiched between caring for her pre-teen son and 67-year-old mother whose health has been declining for two years. She is pulled in many directions, not leaving much time to connect with her son or take time for herself. She's feeling all the pressure of the sandwich generation, those who are trying to balance work while caring for both children and aging parents.
The in-home care from Home Instead provides personalized services that cater to her mother’s needs and provides a piece of mind for Carrie, who has felt guilt over the care situation.
