At Home Instead of Sequim, WA, we had a great turnout for our Dementia Workshop, led by Pam Scott! The workshop provided our dedicated caregivers with an immersive experience, simulating the daily challenges faced by seniors coping with dementia. Equipped with specialized gloves and glasses, our team engaged in various tasks designed to test their motor skills, focus, and other essential abilities affected by dementia.
One activity involved threading small beads onto a string, replicating the difficulties seniors with dementia encounter when handling intricate tasks with impaired vision. Another task was simply trying to button up a shirt. Through these activities, our caregivers gained profound insights into what individuals living with dementia experience, enhancing their understanding and refining their caregiving approach.
As we strive to provide the best dementia care in Sequim, WA we take immense pride in the hard work displayed by our caregivers. It is inspiring to work with people who have a passion for improving their home care knowledge.
