Our Brian Geenty Caring Star is... Doris Monath!
Doris is our Caring Star for November, and she is a true rock (and roll) star! She celebrated ten years working with Home Instead this year, and we could not be happier that she is a part of our team of CAREGivers. What makes Doris so special is something that can’t always be put into words---she has a magic about her when she is with her clients. She instinctively knows just what they seem to need at that moment. She has worked with clients whose needs vary, but she has a way with clients with dementia. Her calm demeanor, patience, and kindness shows through for these clients, and she shines like the star she is with them!
Like a rock n' roll musician, she always hits the right notes with the family as well, becoming their eyes and ears for those far away from their loved ones. Compliments are always passed on from the family to the office about Doris, as their applause can be heard in the difference they see in their loved one while Doris is with them. She shares her heart with her clients, but she also never gives up on them. She finds a way to reach them, so they know someone is there caring for them with all they have.
If all this was not amazing enough, Doris also is incredible when working with another CAREGiver; she takes the time to show someone not only the layout of the house and routines, but also how best to approach the client and the many small things that will help a CAREGiver find that bond with their client. It is always amazing when another CAREGiver sings the praises of another CAREGiver for going above and beyond.
So if Doris was a rock and roll song, I think the title of that song would be Rock On CAREGiver Star!!
