Our February 2023 Brian Geenty Caring Star is... Michelle Weatherhog!
Our Caring Star award winner for February is... Michelle Weatherhog! Michelle is engaged with her clients, continuously complimented by clients and their family members, she goes the extra mile in her willingness to help out whenever needed, even adjusting her schedule to benefit clients and taking additional shifts.
Michelle's communication and responsiveness to the office staff is consistent and refreshing. She truly demonstrates the expectations of a Care Professional and Caring Star. We also wanted to include a special note from the one of her special client's family sharing their gratitude for Michelle:
"Michelle is the best caretaker in the whole world. We are so lucky to have her. My mother, who attends many seminars on how to care for people with cognitive decline, says that Michelle is better than all of them. Michelle goes over and beyond to make sure that my father is respected and loved. She makes sure all the other caretakers who take care of my father are aware of his needs.
She has gotten to know us as a family in order to be part of his world. She plays his favorite music, dances with him, plays games with him, makes puzzles out of his favorite pictures, brings his favorite foods, sorts his old coins with him, sets up challenges like, "How many balls can you throw into the laundry basket?", cleans the house, teaches him to conduct the music he hears, looks at his albums of pictures over and over and over and over….
Each day she does something new and fun to make my father's older life as enjoyable as possible. She has instructed us in how to look him in the eyes and sit in front of him when he speaks."
