Bob and Anna Edenfield - Franchise Owners Since 2009

Bob and Anna Edenfield, Franchise Owners Since 2009

Being part of Home Instead is a very personal experience to both Anna and Bob. With their experience helping Anna’s family care for her parents and now caring for Bob’s 90 year old mother, they understood when the opportunity arose to make this personal experience a new life’s mission. They both feel one of the most gratifying parts of Home Instead is the daily fulfillment; knowing that the Caregivers and dedicated staff strive to make such a positive impact on senior’s lives every day. They believe the Home Instead daily mission is to keep seniors in their homes safely and comfortably; adding to their quality of life, while preserving their dignity and independence.

Bob and Anna have been married for 20 years. They moved to the Hattiesburg community about four years ago and genuinely enjoy living here and growing into part of the community. Bob was once overheard to say, “the two nicest groups of people I have ever met are the native Hawaiians and the folks in the Hattiesburg area”

Both Anna and Bob are involved in the business, where Bob oversees daily operations while Anna is actively involved with community projects like our Be A Santa to A Senior, a community wide effort on behalf of less fortunate Seniors during the Christmas season.

Bob’s background before Home Instead has been in engineering applications and technical sales. He graduated from Kennesaw State University with continuing education at University of Georgia and Georgia Tech. Anna graduated with a degree in Psychology from Southern Louisiana University. She has worked as a case manager in social work for four years before coming to Home Instead. Both feel their work careers and life experience, their love of seniors combine helped them understand they are in the right place and the right time to help make a difference in senior’s lives and our community.

Maya

Maya Jackson-Warren, Service Coordinator since 2024

Meet Maya, our Midwest girl with a heart of gold. Born at just 2lbs 11oz, Maya came into the world needing a little bit of extra attention. Very early on, her mother knew she would need to get more experience to meet Maya’s needs. In doing so, Maya’s mother made a career out of working with special needs children and individuals living with disabilities for over 30 years. Maya has always wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps.  She has moved around quite a bit, but has always ended up in a position where she was helping others. Now she’s ready to stay in her “forever state” of Mississippi with her husband and daughter. She’s so grateful that God brought her to Home Instead where she is happy to be helping seniors and families in our community. Maya’s motto is “Do what you can when you can, because you never know when your help can change someone’s life!”

Kara 2

Kara Armour, Care Professional Administrative Assistant since 2024

Kara is originally from Waynesboro, Mississippi. After living in Alabama since the age of 15, she returned to her home state a few years ago. Having been a licensed massage therapist since 2013, Kara discovered Home Instead and was immediately interested. While a massage therapist, Kara was passionate about tailoring individualized treatment plans for each of her clients based on their needs and her great desire to meet them.

Kara’s mother became a Certified Nursing Assistant at 60 years of age and continues in that role. This career change by her mother motivated Kara to try something different and applied to Home Instead as a caregiver. She researched Home Instead’s values and knew she had to apply after learning about this wonderful company. She became a caregiver and absolutely loved it!

Kara summarized her caregiving experience in this way: "Being able to step in and care for our aging community is one of my greatest achievements. For me to bring joy to the person I was assigned to, brought joy to myself. Being a blessing to others is a blessing to me!"

Kara decided to take a leap of faith when she interviewed and accepted a position in the office as the Care Professional Administrative Assistant. She is excited about moving into this area of senior care and is looking forward to what the future holds.
