Our team at Home Instead of Valdosta, GA had another amazing year hosting the Be a Santa to a Senior event. This was our location's 15th year holding the event in Valdosta and we were able to collect gifts for 150 local older adults! We want to thank everyone who donated gifts or time to the cause, as a simple gift can bring so much joy to elders in our area.
Be a Santa to a Senior is a nation-wide effort hosted by Home Instead to provide gifts to seniors in need who may not have anyone to celebrate the holidays with. Each year, shoppers participate by finding a Be a Santa to a Senior tree or display at a location in their area. Ornaments featuring names and desired gifts of older adults will be on display so that people may buy the requested gift and return it wrapped or in a gift bag to the location with the ornament attached. We are honored to be able to hold this event each year, as benefits the lives of so many seniors in our area and across the country.
