At Home Instead, we are always getting creative in our efforts to support local senior communities. Miguel, our Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator, recently dressed up as a banana and visited two senior communities in Poquoson. This was meant to kick off the summer with smiles, laughter, and a healthy treat.
Miguel and his banana-themed event was a big hit for both residents and staff, spreading cheer and engaging in meaningful conversations. Bananas are a fantastic choice for seniors, as they are packed with essential nutrients like potassium, vitamin C, and fiber, which support heart health and digestion. Even just the simple act of visiting can significantly boost seniors' mental and emotional health, reducing feelings of loneliness and promoting a sense of connection.
We are grateful to the communities for welcoming us and allowing us to brighten their day and special thanks to Miguel for dressing up and hand-delivering the fruit! As we strive to provide the best home care in Poquoson, VA, we will continue to support local senior communities with new and creative events like this one.
