We all need to have a sense of belonging in a community where we feel safe, secure, and valued. Home Instead's Dementia Day Program, known as Friends Club, is a place where all people can be themselves, and where we build relationships to know the person beneath the dementia.

Our trained staff is committed to providing you and your family with a warm, home-like atmosphere filled with compassion and heart. We have a deep passion for helping people living with dementia be engaged in a community where they belong. You need a trusted partner in care, and we are there to help you find reassurance and some time for yourself.

Come and see what the Friends Club has to offer:

  • Located in our newly-renovated space in the former Stanley Club at 66 Wendell Avenue, Pittsfield.
  • Full day (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) or partial day (8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. or 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) options.
  • Participation limited to 15 people per day to foster belonging and community.
  • Nutritious meals, snacks and shared mealtime experiences.
  • Activities and events based on personal interests, needs and abilities.
  • Social connectedness to our community.
  • Music, movement, creative arts, conversation, volunteering, special events and more.

Meaningful Activities

Our professional staff will design an activity plan based on your loved one's personal interests, needs and abilities. From music to cooking, current events to volunteering, all our Friends will contribute to the community in meaningful ways.

Nutritious Meals & Snacks

A well-balanced lunch is served daily at 12:00 p.m. Morning and afternoon snacks are also provided. Friends may participate in planning, preparing and serving meals and snacks.

Home Instead Care Professionals can assist with medication reminders, mobility assistance and help in the bathroom.

Family Support & Education

Your health and wellbeing as a family caregiver is a priority for us at Home Instead. Take advantage of all we have to offer.

Family Lounge: Stop and have a cup of coffee with other family caregivers after dropping off your loved one. Connect with others who are caring for their family members with dementia.

Free Family Caregiver Training: Our local Berkshire County Home Instead office regularly offers free training designed especially for family caregivers looking after a loved one with Alzheimer's disease.
