Pam Boles, Co-Owner

On August 1, 2010, Roger and I began the ownership of the Home Instead office in Staunton. The office had been running successfully since 2001 and was growing steadily. For the next 12 years, Roger and I continued to build the business by following the Home Instead plan of providing the best care possible for aging adults and their families. We were honored to provide care for many special people in our communities. We worked alongside some wonderful caregivers and our office team who took serving seniors seriously and wanted to see ‘their seniors’ thrive and flourish in their later years. Roger and I loved calling the Shenandoah Valley our home.
In the spring of 2022, Roger was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Then, for the next several months, Roger made sure that everything was in place for our Home Instead office to continue running smoothly without him. Our General Manager, John, (also our 2nd son) had been with us for a couple of years and was learning all the things necessary to keep the office successful. After Roger’s passing in early September, our office team continued working together to ensure that no detail was overlooked for our clients and Care Professionals during those difficult days.
Then, in January 2023, John completed all the requirements to co-own the Home Instead office with me. John has a background in mechanical engineering which gives him a strong background in keeping all the parts of things in place and running smoothly. He worked locally at Dynamic Aviation, a couple of years at GM in Detroit, and then Leidos in Bridgewater. He came to Home Instead to help others – especially aging adults. He met his wife, Katie in high school but then lost touch with her until 2019 when he was visiting the lower 48 states on his motorcycle. They married in 2020 and have 2 sons, Justus and Maverick, and their dog Drax.
John and I are honored to be part of the Home Instead family locally and globally. It is a great company that enables us both to use our gifts of helping others live their best lives. We are committed to fulfilling the mission of Home Instead: to enhance the lives of aging adults and their families and to expand the world’s capacity to care.
