April 2024 Care Professional of the Month - Elena
Personable, light-hearted, compassionate, positive, sweet, professional, consistent, and dedicated are a few words the team uses to describe April 2024 Care Professional of the Month! Elena has a magic touch with seniors and is able to build great longstanding relationships with her clients. She demonstrates time and again what it means to be a great care professional by going above and beyond for seniors in her community. She exceeds expectations in everything from companionship care and engagement to more advanced activities of daily living. She has a passion for helping seniors remain in their own homes while maintaining their independence.
Elena has a background in nursing which allows her to excel with clients, but she is also very open to learning the "Home Instead" way! When offered, she jumped on the opportunity to advance her skills on Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care by attending our training program. This demonstrates how she is willing to learn new things and support seniors to remain happy and safe wherever they call home. She is always there to help the team when she can with urgent shifts or helping her current clients.
Our Team at Home Instead Calgary hears great reviews about the care Elena provides. We would like to share a story from one of our Client Care Coordinators: Elena is bilingual having originally been from France and we had matched her to a client that also speaks French. Both her and the client were super excited to be able to speak to each other in their native language and it helped them build a connection! When Elena arrived at the clients, she was on time, prepared and with her usual smile and laugh. She was raised in a village in France close to where they originated from. It was a special introduction as the team provided the seniors with a hometown Care Professional which affected them both in a positive manner. A moment Elena and the clients won’t forget. She is a fantastic representation of Home Instead’s values and always has our back. Great job Elena!!!
