December 2021 CAREGiver of the Month – Sue B.
Sue joined our Home Instead team in April of 2021 after realizing that the many experiences over the years caring for her family members had laid the foundation for a true career as a care professional. Her grandmother, a real “Rosie the Riveter” as she describes her, who worked in a bomb arsenal during WW2, instilled a strong work ethic in her at a young age. To this day, she reflects on her grandmother, who she says was her best friend, when completing important tasks for her clients who depend on her for so much, and who look toward her to bring some joy to their days.
Sue has an amazing and uplifting perspective and a positive attitude towards life and this in part due to the adventurous life and adventures she has experienced and dedicated herself to over the years. She is a certified Class 5 white water guide and has been down almost every river in Colorado! She is also a lifelong extreme skier and has hiked up and skied nearly all of the backcountry mountain areas north of I-70!
As another testament to her caring and compassionate nature, Sue spent 15 years as a volunteer for the National Sport Center for the Disabled (NCSD) at Winter Park Ski Resort where she provided skiing assistance and motivation to blind and disabled skiers. We are very lucky to have you on our team Sue, and we thank you for all that you do for us and for our clients!
