January Care Professional of the Month: Leslie
A well-deserved congrats to January Care Professional of the Month, Leslie N! Leslie joined our team nearly a year ago and has been impressive from Day-1. Prior to her career as a professional caregiver, Leslie earned a Bachelor's in Human Services and has a professional background helping at-risk juveniles. She is also a mom of 4 and an aspiring artist. Leslie provides care and companionship several times per week to Ms. Josie, a remarkable, highly-accomplished retired chemist with several patents to her name. The relationship these two have built is unique and is based in a mutual respect and appreciation for each other as they enrich each other’s lives in a variety of ways.
Originally from the Philippines, Ms. Josie has a love for the traditional dishes of her homeland. She has taught Leslie many recipes and cooking techniques specific to Filipino cuisine and this experience has provided a wealth of knowledge and a new skill set to Leslie. Ms. Josie is also an avid gardener, and the two will soon be embarking on a spring garden project. Leslie will help her plant her favorite vegetables and herbs and in doing so, will also acquire gardening tips and skills of her own that she can share with her four children. It is really wonderful to see how the two women, client and caregiver, interact and share in each other’s wisdom and passions to grow closer together and build a unique and inspiring relationship that spans generations and crosses cultures, and is rooted in both compassion and respect.
Leslie, we are so proud and grateful to have you on our team, and we thank you for the difference you are making to Ms. Josie each and every day you spend together.
