Staying aware of local resources is essential for seniors and their families, especially when finding support, activities, and free or discounted services in the community. That's why Home Instead is excited to feature The Friends of Pleasanton Senior Center. Thanks to them, older adults can enjoy a wide variety of programs to stay active, engaged, and informed at the Senior Center.
The Pleasanton Senior Center is located at 5353 Sunol Blvd, and provides a welcoming space for seniors to connect with others, participate in activities, and access critical services. Many seniors visit the center for social activities, such as gathering with friends over a nutritious lunch provided by Open Heart Kitchen.
Meals are served weekdays in partnership with the Area Agency on Aging of Alameda County. Lunches are served in the Main Hall from 11:45am to 12:45pm and are available to seniors aged 60+ with reservations.
The center also offers services like health screenings, legal and financial counseling, and educational workshops. Seniors can learn new computer skills, join support groups, or take fitness classes to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The center even offers a free trial of select classes for newcomers, making it easy for anyone to see what the Senior Center has to offer.
