“Servant Leadership from the Heart”
Edward (Ed) Minnis is the Executive Director for Home Instead, operating in both Jefferson and Oldham Counties. He has passionately dedicated over two decades of his career to caring for the most vulnerable individuals in our community; specifically, under the 1915(c) waivers to include the Home and Community Based waiver. As a leader in health and human services, Ed started as a front-line caregiver and worked his way up through his hard work, determination, and desire to serve those who need it most.
Not only does Ed serve from his heart, he leads his teams from the front, not from behind a closed door. He believes in his teams and wants them to become the best they can be, both professionally and personally. He invests in them by giving them opportunities for growth and development within the agency, whether that is mentoring them or enrolling them in professional training.
As the Executive Director at Home Instead he is tasked with multiple aspects of the organization at every level. He has put in years’ worth of time and effort to earn his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and most recently earning his Master of Business Administration in 2023. His desire to learn keeps moving him forward not only in his personal life, but his professional life as well. He believes that knowledge is power, and he uses that power to improve the lives of others.
With his servant’s heart, Muhammad Ali’s quote “service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth” resonates deep within him and you can see it in all that he does.
