Wisconsin Home Instead® Franchise Network Welcomes New Corporate Trainer
Nicole Phalin joins corporate support team to help champion CAREGiver™ training.
GREEN BAY, WI – July 20, 2021 – Nicole Phalin was promoted to Corporate Trainer for We Care Senior Care, LLC, which owns and operates seven Home Instead franchises in Wisconsin, including Appleton/Oshkosh, Cedarburg, Green Bay/Sturgeon Bay, Kenosha, Madison, Racine and Sheboygan. Nicole replaced Janis Robertson, who served in the same role for five years before pursuing retirement plans with her family.
Nicole commented, “I am blessed to have been preceded by Janis and for the opportunity to have gleaned insights from her years of experience. While these are big shoes to fill, I am excited to take the next step in my career and even more eager to help prepare CAREGivers for the all-important responsibility of caring for our aging population. From classroom instruction to interactive learning, we can help support our CAREGivers with the knowledge and expertise needed to provide best-in-class home care for older adults, as well as help them and their clients remain safe and secure.”
As Corporate Trainer, Nicole is part of the corporate support team based at Home Instead Green Bay, which shares office space between franchise and corporate teams. She leads new-hire orientation, topical in-services and continuous-learning programs for the nearly 800 CAREGivers across the company’s seven franchise locations. Most recently, Nicole served as CAREGiver Manager for the Home Instead Appleton franchise office; in that role, she led CAREGiver development and retention efforts at the local level.
Shana Atkinson, Vice President, Operations, of the seven-franchise We Care Senior Care network, said, “We believe in fostering the ongoing development of our people, so it’s only fitting that one of our own is filling this highly critical role. Nicole has proven to be a champion for our CAREGivers and clients alike, and her vast experience in and knowledge of the industry will prove invaluable as she leads CAREGiver training.”
Prior to joining Home Instead, Nicole served as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at a Skilled Nursing Facility, followed by Activity Director in the facility’s dementia wing — altogether for 12 years. Her passion to support dementia patients led her to furthering her education by becoming a Dementia Care Specialist. She also earned a degree in global business management to help support future career growth. In 2016, she joined Home Instead’s Appleton franchise office as a Staff Coordinator, before being promoted to Lead Staff Coordinator and CAREGiver Manager for the franchise.
