Meet Jane and her CAREGiver, Sharon, Nashville’s Client and Professional CAREGiver Spotlight team for June! Ms. Jane’s husband, a commercial airline pilot in Florida, passed away a few years ago and Sharon has helped her get through that. Ms. Jane recalls fondly that her husband never asked her how much money she spent at the store but had a true interest in what she bought. Sharon worked for the president of Shoney’s restaurant in Nashville before joining Home Instead.
Ms. Jane and Sharon both share a love of the outdoors. Ms. Jane cannot see or walk very well now, but they will sit outside together, and Sharon will tell Ms. Jane what is going on and what her neighbor’s yard looks like. Ms. Jane loves to listen to ballgames and was a baseball player herself before becoming a mother to two sons and one daughter. Ms. Jane enjoys Sharon’s homecooked meals, especially her rolls and pork chops. She also trusts Sharon to pick out her clothing for the day.
Sharon admires Ms. Jane and says, “She’s an independent and witty 95-year-old lady.” Elizabeth, Director of Operations at Home Instead, says “They really make me smile every time I get the pleasure of seeing them together.” We are certainly glad Ms. Jane has Sharon to help her live “Home Instead” and we hope they continue to be there for each other for many years to come!
