Nashville May 2021 Professional CAREGiver of the Month - Christina N.
Meet Christina N., the May Professional CAREGiver of the Month for Nashville! Christina has been with Home Instead since 2014 and with the same client for four of those years! She has always been a caregiver in some fashion. Her mother told her from an early age that caregiving was her calling. She began her career in a nursing home, which paid for her CNA training. She was also giving care to her mother at home during this time. Christina says she remembers the patient that proved to her she had truly found her calling. She was a new caregiver at a nursing home and was given their most difficult patient to feed. No one else could get her to eat, but Christina sat down with her and told her she would stay there all day if she had to. When she took her first bite, Christina knew she was where she was supposed to be.
When Christina is not providing excellent care to her clients, she enjoys selling Avon. It takes a lot of her spare time, but she loves the opportunities it gives her to meet new people and form relationships. She also loves to read John Grisham novels or religious books, while sitting on her front porch. You may find her eating at Captain D’s or Zaxby’s when she is not home cooking her famous corn casserole.
She says, “I have the coolest job in the world. I get to come in and take care of God’s children every day.” We are so thankful Christina chose to fulfill her calling here at Home Instead. We hope she stays with us for many years to come and we know her clients feel the same way!
