Nashville June 2021 Professional CAREGiver of the Month - Maggie M.
Meet Maggie M., the June Professional CAREGiver of the Month for Nashville! Maggie has been caring for others since the age of 19. She began in a nursing home working 3rd shift. Now she works in a prison, counseling inmates during the day and Home Instead in the afternoons. She is a hard worker, to say the least. She has been with Home Instead 17 years now and has never called out.
She purposely takes on clients who have more difficult personalities and is successful with them. She says the secret is to not talk to them as if they are old. She treats them like an old friend, and she never gets comfortable at a client’s house. She is always up and ready to do whatever they need. She was also a probation officer for a time, and knows how to be safe in situations that may intimidate others.
When Maggie is not providing excellent care to her clients, she likes to visit Bath and Body Works or eat at Texas Roadhouse. She says she also finds cleaning relaxing. Maggie’s supervisor says, “Maggie is a wonderful example of what it means to be a team player, communicate well and frequently, and always be solution minded. She is a genuinely happy person, and her smile is contagious.” We are certainly happy to have Maggie on our team and we hope she continues to “Share Her Heart” with our clients for many years to come!
