Meet Our Home Care Team
David Ramirez 2024

David Ramirez, Chief Happiness Officer

David joins Home Instead after holding a variety of executive positions for an innovative digital technology conglomerate. With a J.D. from the University of San Francisco, David brings years of experience in legal, marketing, and corporate development to the Home Instead San Francisco team. Having responsibility to care for his grandparents and autistic brother, David understands the dynamics and importance of service professionals that provide necessary care to ease the burden placed on families supporting their loved ones. In addition to his commitment to communities needing care, David and his wife have a passion for dogs and own and operate Peticular LLC, a business that sells the OutFox Field Guard, a patented mask that is designed for dogs to protect against injuries caused by scavenging and foxtail penetration. David also volunteers as a coach and mentor for several local sports organizations and is a current board member of the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce.  

Jill Bowers 2024

Jill Bowers,  Director of Operations

​Jill discovered her passion for home care in 2007 while attending San Francisco State University, when she was offered the opportunity to work as a one-on-one live-in caregiver, for her elderly family friend. She provided in-home care and support to her client, while simultaneously earning a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree with an emphasis in Art History in 2009. In 2013, Jill joined the administrative side of home care and quickly displayed great leadership potential, becoming an essential part of management and earned a promotion as Operations Manager in 2015. Jill joined Home Instead San Francisco in January of 2018 as Director of Operations. Jill understands the home care industry well and supports her team in all facets. Jill brings a great “can-do” attitude and an innate desire to help her team, CarePros, the clients and families we serve. She loves living in in San Francisco and enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and going on long walks with her two dogs.


Victoria Drake 2024

Victoria Drake, Director of Client Care, Gerontologist

​Victoria Drake received her Masters in Gerontology at San Francisco State University and has actively been working with the elderly in San Francisco for just over 15 years. Her Master's thesis emphasized the idea of creating and maintaining a Quality of Life at the End of Life and it has truly been her passion to ensure that older adults have the highest level of care while maintaining their dignity and independence. Victoria is excited to bring her experience and knowledge to the Home Instead team and is ready to collaborate and continue to grow with the Home Instead San Francisco.




Susan Anastasio 2024

Susan Anastasio, Director of Business Development

Susan has been active in the healthcare industry for over 20 years, working closely with physicians, case managers, social workers, fiduciaries, and other healthcare professionals ensuring excellent communication and coordination of client needs. She has served on the Membership Committee of CMSA San Francisco/East Bay Chapter.  Susan loves the relationships she's cultivated over her 20+ years in living and working in San Francisco and thrives in identifying synergies among our partners and bridging partnerships among our senior community providers.





Mayra Rivera Martinez 2024

Mayra Rivera-Martinez, Client Care Coordinator

Mayra joined Home Instead in 2022, as Client Care Coordinator. She has been in the healthcare field for over 10 years. Her career began as a care provider in 2012. She feels very fortunate to have worked with excellent companies throughout her profession. She has been blessed with opportunities to gain experience which have empowered her growth. With continued training and self-less dedication, she has been able to develop her skills and truly understand the meaning of care.

Karen Rono, Staffing Manager

Karen brings with her over 20 years in the home-care industry where she has overseen departments in Staffing, Care Management, and Human Resources.  Karen also has earned a certificate as a Home Health Aide. She has an immense passion for geriatric health care and is a huge advocate for the CAREGivers that comprise our Care Team.  





Johnika Carter 2024

Johnika Carter, HR & Recruitment Manager

Johnika Carter is an ambitious individual with an unwavering commitment to provide quality customer service and support to everyone she encounters.  She joins Home Instead following 6 years of experience in the Senior Living Industry.  Johnika realized her calling to help seniors at an early age after volunteering at a local Senior Living community for those living with cognitive impairments.  She has been on all sides of senior care, from concierge to caregiver and even management. Providing quality care for seniors and support for our staff is her true passion, and fills her with enormous gratification.






Margaret Trejo 2024

Margaret Trejo, C.N.A., Recruitment Coordinator

Margaret Trejo joined Home Instead in April 2017. After spending almost 10 years in the banking industry, Margaret wanted to pursue a more personally rewarding career caring for older adults. She earned certifications as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Home Health Aide from Northern California Nursing Academy. During which she received 190 hours of training on how to properly provide personal care, body mechanics and communication skills. Margaret is practical and detail oriented when working with clients. In her time with Home Instead, she has been able to form a trusting relationship with a client who has extensive personal care needs. She is a lifelong Bay Area resident who understands the importance of caring for seniors in her own community.

Frankie Woodruff 2024

Frankie Woodruff, Office Manager

Frankie greatly enjoys his work as Office Manager and the interaction with Clients, Care Professionals, and Staff. He has worked at non-profits, both in human services and in environmental preservation, for over 15 years.  After 12 years in the Information Technology field, he has returned to office management and uses his talent in both fields to help with efficiency and logistics.

Anderson Martinez, Senior Talent Specialist

Anderson is a passionate and experienced recruiter who specializes in talent acquisition. He has been working as a recruitment specialist for over two years. He loves meeting and talking with new people every day. He is also experienced in customer service, always looking to provide the best service to everyone he comes in contact with. As someone who tries very hard to understand the feelings of others, he knows that his position is to find those candidates who see the caregiving profession as a vocation and asis truly something they enjoy doing. Anderson strives to develop connections with applicants who, in turn, are develop connections with our clients for a long lasting match. In his personal time, he enjoys spending time in nature, reading about personal growth and understanding people's behaviors.

Maki Solomon, Recruitment Administrator

Maki grew up in Berkeley and studied English at UC Santa Barbara. Inspired by her mother's career in healthcare, she regularly volunteered at assisted living facilities in Oakland, fostering a genuine passion for helping others. Before joining our team, Maki gained valuable experience as an administrative assistant in the tech startup world. She is committed to helping us recruit dedicated Care Professionals and expand services to better support seniors in San Francisco.

Jessica Soriano, R.N.,  Training Coordinator

Born and raised in the Bay Area.  A RN with over 15 years of experience.  Worked at Novartis as a RN educator.  Currently works at a large healthplan, Anthem, as a Nurse Manager.   Received her bachelor in Nursing at Dominican University and earned both her Masters in Nursing Administration and Business Administration at Holy Names University.  Jessica is passionate about food. She travels around the world to find that one perfect meal. Though, she's more of a snacker...  When she's not eating, she enjoys travelling, cooking a new recipe, and or just hanging out at home enjoying a lazy day with her dog, Piper. 

 

She has a deep understanding of caregiving tasks such as personal care, medication administration, and emergency response.  Jessica is looking forward to sharing these combined skills to ensure our caregivers are effectively prepared to provide high-quality care.

Samantha Ellen 2024 final

Samantha Ellen, On-Call Coordinator

Samantha has proudly been servicing the senior community for over a decade. Starting off in the field as a caregiver and working her way through many different roles in the home care industry. Samantha is not shy when it comes to meeting others and enjoys being able to work with a diverse community ranging from veterans to developmentally disabled, to the elderly. In Samantha's free time she loves being a mom to her big family, cheering for her favorite hockey team and attending country concerts.
