We recently attended the inspiring event "On Art and Alzheimer’s: A Ray Grew Retrospective," hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association San Diego/Imperial Chapter at the Center for Creative Leadership at UCSD. This gathering celebrated the remarkable life and artistic legacy of Ray Grew, a local World War II navigator, engineer, and beloved family member who bravely battled Alzheimer’s disease.
This event was a tribute to Ray and a fundraising success, with over $3000 raised for the Alzheimer's Association through the auction of Ray's artwork. Thank you to everyone who organized this event and to all who attended. Special thanks go to Ray's extended family and friends for sharing his inspiring journey, and to Neurologist Dr. Greg Sahagian for his insights into the evolution of Ray's art from a neurological perspective.
