These heroes may be eligible for a unique benefits through the VA in one of two ways:
- Homemaker / HHA and Respite Benefits through the Community Care Network
- Aid & Attendance Pension
About Homemaker/HHA and Respite VA Benefits
As a Veteran, you may be eligible for the Homemaker / Home Health Aide (HHA) and Respite programs which provide home care services. These benefits can alleviate some or all of the financial burden of receiving home care, or to supplement care which is being paid for privately.
How to Obtain Homemaker/HHA or Respite Benefits
- Step 1 - Enroll
You must be enrolled with VA health care. Apply for VA health care benefits by submitting the VA 10-10EZ form via mail or directly to your local VA Medical Center. If you are not established with the VA Network, our office will be happy to assist you with acquiring In-home Care with your VA Benefits. - Step 2 - Request A Consultation
Contact your local VA point of contact (i.e. case manager, social worker, PCP, etc.) to request a consultation to obtain home care services. - Step 3 - Approval
Once approved, request Home Instead as your preferred home care provider. Our NPI # is 1518109982 (If the VA does not allow you to choose your preferred provider, please contact a VA Patient Advocate at your local VA Medical Center.) - Step 4 - Authorization
The VA will send an authorization for your care to Home Instead. Our office will reach out to you to schedule care.

- Independently: Complete the VA Form 21-2680
- In-Person: Pension Management Center
