At Home Instead, every one of our caregivers receives expert training from our team of state licensed registered nurses. Our RN's have over 50 years of combined nursing experience!

Home Instead's expert training does not stop after orientation. We believe hiring and retaining dependable, caring and professional individuals is essential to our success! Our continued training includes advanced classes on Alzheimer's and Dementia, but also refresher trainings on topics that may need more instruction or reminders.

Before they are invited into any family’s home, we run a thorough background check. Home Instead also conducts a drug screening on all applicants and confirms driver's license status and driving record for all Care Professionals who will be providing transportation as part of their job duties. We will not send anyone into your home that we wouldn’t invite into our own. It’s that simple.

As a part of our FREE initial Care Consult, our Care Manager will conduct a home safety check to help identify any environmental safety concerns, such as trip hazards, lack of grab bars in wet areas, misuse of extension cords or space heaters – or any other safety concerns.

Additionally, Home Instead maintains standard safety protocols to protect both client and Care Pro during all personal care tasks. These routine actions will prevent injury, ensure a safe environment, maintain hygiene and give you peace of mind about your loved one's care.

When relying on a private individual, there's always the risk of unexpected absences or unreliable services. Our agency, on the other hand, has an exceptional support staff to step in and assist with client needs if a caregiver is ill or unavailable. This continuity of care provides reassurance and minimizes disruptions to your loved one's daily routine.

The Home Instead Care Team is available 24/7 to provide support, handle any urgent situations, and meet all of your care needs. You'll have the added confidence of knowing that a live person from your local office who possesses intimate knowledge of your unique situation is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Private caregivers usually do not have the support team or capacity to be available 24/7/365.

Being bonded means the agency has insurance to cover any claims for which the caregiver is responsible so the homeowner is not liable should something happen. Each person who enters your home is bonded and insured to protect you against loss, removing all risk to homeowners.

Private caregivers are generally not bonded or insured.

Private individuals may lack the necessary insurance coverage or training to handle emergencies or accidents effectively. On the other hand, Home Instead provides liability insurance, ensuring the well-being of both your loved one and the caregiver. In the event of an unforeseen incident, our agency takes full responsibility, offering you peace of mind and protection.

Home Instead also carries Workers Compensation Insurance to protect each of our caregivers in case of a work-related injury, instead of the family bearing this full responsibility in cases where a private caregiver is hired.
